We went for a quick dinghy ride Sunday night, as we noticed that ‘Arcturus’, our first ‘big’ sailboat was on the move. We caught up with Mike and Ella as they were moving to a mooring ball. The cost of a slip has gotten too high for them. We get that – we actually have budgeted what would have gone into a slip in one place – into the cost for all of the slips we might take for the summer. I got a photo of Reflection and Arcturus, both on Betsie Lake together. We owned Arcturus from June 2000 until May 2023, and we have owned Reflection since March of 2023.

Thus far, as we complete the third week: four nights in a slip in Douglas, three nights in Pentwater, one night in Ludington. We have paid for five, as we got three nights free in Douglas. We expect to be in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin this weekend and we’ll take a slip there for a couple of nights.
That’s pretty much on target, anchor 75% of the time, 25% in a slip.
Marcia told you about our adventures on Monday. Tuesday, we went ashore and got showers at the Municipal Marina. Five bucks a piece and all you can want hot water. We also went to the hardware store for a rubber stopper for the sink in the head (bathroom or washroom for you dirt dwellers) and replacement swatters to replace the sad one that we swatted to death.
We chatted to a librarian to be sure Marcia can print off items for her court filing (she’s conservator for my brother’s affairs).
Tim came to Frankfort for our resupply mission, and stayed overnight. We saw an absolutely amazing sunrise this morning.

He brought some items that we ordered, and items we forgot (the oil changing pump because we’ll be out long enough that I’ll need to change the oil) and fresh herbs from the garden. He took home our electric polisher/buffer that we forgot to send home with him in May.
We took a walk with Tim, and then spent the afternoon at the library doing the accounts, printing out paperwork and mailing it all off to the court.
Frankfort is a great spot to be as we proceed north towards our journey to the North Channel.
